It’s 1:21 in the morning. I have a lot of cryptography work to catch up on, but it’s a Saturday, so I’ll deal with it tomorrow. That plagues the question what have I been doing all day?

Well, the simple answer is I've grown tired of corporations and their endless hunger to profit from every human being. For years, I have been held prisoner by Windows not by chains but the compulsion to play games with my friends. But I suppose there comes a moment in life when growing up is inevitable and the shared hours of youth turn into a fading memory. So today I take a leap into new found digital freedom.

I spent the morning really thinking about my own threat model. I tried Qubes OS but it requires a bit of a learning curve and with no nation state actors after me currently, I found it to be overkill. For basic security, I decided to go with Fedora. While its not ultra hardened it ships with SELinux enabled. I will take some time to hardened it whenever I can. For cases where I need to browse the hidden corners of the web, I have flashed tails(The Amnesic Incognito Live System) without Persistent Storage. I haven't customized Fedora yet but it waits for my touch like a blank canvas.
